In the simplest of terms a sound set is a map of a MIDI device or sample library that tells Sibelius where it can find the sounds the device contains. Using a sound set allows Sibelius to interpret your music based on standard notation resulting in accurate playback of your music direct from the score.

None. Sound sets are instructions to use sound content from other sources. Using a sound set will not make the sounds of a sample library or MIDI device available if you do not already own the library or device.

No. The Sound Set Project does not support or condone software piracy and reserves the right to refuse sales and/or support to users suspected of using pirated or cracked software. Anyone arriving at this site from sources of illegal software distribution will be banned. Additionally, anyone proven to be using or distributing software illegally will be reported to the appropriate authorities.

No. Although Sibelius has been supportive of the Sound Set Project's efforts, they do not provide tech support for third party sound sets. If you need tech support for a sound set please fill out the support form.

Free tech support is not available for sound sets not created by the Sound Set Project. These inquiries should be directed to Sibelius. Support for other sound sets is available for a fee from the Sound Set Project, use the contact form to request more information.

The sound sets will work on Mac and PC computers running Sibelius 5.2.5 or higher. Performance will vary based on how powerful your system is. Make sure your computer meets or exceeds the requirements for both Sibelius and the sample library you wish to use.

While the sound sets will work in Sibelius First, functionality will be limited. Because of this, Sibelius First is not officially supported for any sound sets.

Yes! All current versions of all sound sets available from the Sound Set Project are supported in Sibelius 7. Previous versions and discontinued products are not supported. Please download the Sibelius 7 User Manual Addendum for more information.

The Sound Set Project is not accepting beta applications at this time.
